Whatever it is I applaud it for having the manual shifter mode done the correct way.

It started out as a Jaguar J-gate, but an accident accordion-ed it up.

I know people have already guessed the answer, but I’ll throw this tidbit out there for next time:
It was obviously either a Mazda or a BMW, as only Mazda and BMW understand that if you’re going to fake shift an autobox, manual drivers instinctively PULL BACK to upshift and PUSH FORWARD to downshift. I’ve driven many many many nameplates here in the states, and I’ve seen “manumatic” shifters on most of them, and they all have the +/- flipped, and it’s annoying.
So, using that info, I derived that it was either Mazda or a Bimmer, and seeing how BMW tends to put their logo on their shifter heads, I knew from there that it had to be a Mazda. Eat it, Sherlock Holmes!
